Thanksgiving and Pink Friday for the Cure LIVE events

Come gather with us this holiday weekend to enjoy some festive seasonal streams and even a great deal or two for a worthwhile cause on Friday!

turkeytrackerInteractive Thanksgiving? A group is doing a live interactive Thanksgiving turkey smoking all day starting at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. View the live stream here.

Cameras will broadcast the smoker and the cooking process, along with a chat and a Flickr pool where others can post photos. A Twitter feed will include updates from a USB thermometer rig, allowing anyone to join in to participate in a virtual, interactive Thanksgiving. For more details, check it out.

Marc Horowitz from TalkShow247 is doing a special Thanksgiving Island show. Tomorrow, one unfortunate friend or family member is going to eat their green bean casserole alone… outside… on the porch!

Tune in to cast your vote on who should eat Thanksgiving dinner alone!  Will it be Marc’s mom, Marc’s best friend, his ex-girlfriend, his ex-girlfriend’s twin sister, Marc’s mom’s blind date, or will it be the host himself?

Check it out starting at 9 a.m. PST. The final vote will be cast at 4:30 p.m. PST. Tune in early and make your opinions and decisions!

Tune in for a cool charitable event and some great deals on Friday: CompUSA and TigerDirect, leading retailers of consumer electronics and technology products, are branding November 28 as “Pink Friday for the Cure” for the second year in a row and expect to raise more than $250,000 from a portion of total sales and from customer donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest breast cancer organization.

Check out the live webcast all day here on Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in which limited quantities of products will be sold at 50 percent off their list price, with the full proceeds of the sale products going directly to Komen. For more information, visit the web site.

Puppycam popularity (Today Show, CNN, and NBC)

It all started 5 weeks ago, when a SF couple decided to setup a live puppy cam on Ustream. Ever since they hit the “broadcast now” button things have been interesting around the Ustream offices. Due to the “cuteness” of the puppies, the show, to quote NBC news anchor and managing editor Brian Williams, “has taken the web by storm.” 4 million people worldwide checked in on 6 of the most adorable puppies we’ve ever seen. It’s been remarkable to see how 6 little puppies have gotten so “big.”

The CNN segment is humorous. The Today Show segment is informative – make sure to watch!

Here are a few samples of their recent popularity:

Why Obama Won….

Signed Ustream hat by President Elect Barack Obama

Just joking!  Maybe I’m a little bias.

Can anyone guess where we got the signature from?

The New Media Election- And It Was Powerful

Tonight I sat back and watched with amazement one of our nation’s most sacred principles unfold live on Ustream.  Over a million people followed the election on Ustream today- from small election parties, to passionate professional broadcasts.

Whether you agree or not, are red or blue, Democrat or Republican, history was made today and many experienced this through our humble service.  Over the last 2 years, John, Gyula and I have had the opportunity to meet many people and see many things because of Ustream, but tonight, for me, was the most powerful.

Thank you to all who support our service.  We have many major announcements coming over the next few months and we will continue to push the limits of this powerful medium.

If you missed President Elect Obama’s speech today, please watch the VOD below.

God Bless America!
