Ustream’s SXSW “Breakthrough” Party!


Going to South By Southwest in Austin? So are we! To celebrate three years of bringing live streams to the world, we’ll be hosting our first-ever party during South By Southwest’s Interactive Festival on Friday, March 12 starting at 8 p.m. CT at The Phoenix. As an Official SXSW Kick-off Party, the Ustream event will feature an evening of performances by the band Gym Class Heroes with host Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. The first 500 badge-holders to arrive will be granted access, so if you’re in Austin on Friday, March 12, join us at The Phoenix, 409 Colorado Street in Austin, for a night to remember.

Bad Girls Club and Other Events This Week

Tuesday at 8pm PST, tune in here for a live webcast with the cast of Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club. If you’re not familiar with the show, it brings together seven self-proclaimed “bad girls” and puts them in a house together. Think of it as The Real World with people who don’t stop being polite–because they never were polite in the first place.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 5am PST, tune in here for live webcasts with the United Nations Millennium Campaign. Each day, a United Nations staff member will be live broadcasting a Skype call to children in Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana respectively. The United Nations has been utilizing Ustream’s broadcasting platform to connect with individuals in developing nations and share that connection with thousands of people across America who may not be aware of their efforts. Go ahead, get up early and check it out!
