Webware 100: they say its sweetest the first time you win one. And it was.
But it’s extra gratifying this time around for a wholly different reason, when we were awarded for the the 2008 edition of the prestigious award, making it two years in a row. In fact, it was so gratifying, we made a graphic banner to celebrate!
The first reason being, we did not make a deliberate push to our Ustreamers to vote. That means you all, our beloved Ustreamers, voted for us out of your own free will and discovery! In fact, if you voted for us, don’t forget to leave a comment saying so, so that this appreciation is not without a few names. Or at least an online moniker to shower with intentional appreciation.
The second reason being, this year we made Rafe Needleman’s “Top 10” list of Webware Award winners. Adding another layer of editorial selectivity to an already selective group of award winner? Well, you can see why it’s like winning Webware 100 for the first time, all over again.
And for those that have no idea what Webware 100 is, here is the one sentence description from Webware themselves: The 100 top Web apps, 10 each in 10 categories, according to Webware users and the fans of the products that were finalists in the awards.
Or just head on over here to see all top 100 web apps, including all ten from Google. Yes, you heard correct: The Google literally accounts for 10% of the Webware 100, by my count. No, wait, Picasa makes 11. And some of these companies look ripe for the picking by The Google before Webware 100 comes back around for 2009. Which one, you ask?
Hint: it starts with a Y and ends with an exclamation point. Let the speculation begin!
