The Music Library Association, the U.S. National Branch of IAML [the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres], is holding its annual conference in Portland, Oregon, January 31-February 4, 2018. I invite you all to join us for what promises to be a stimulating, enlightening series of sessions in one of America’s most distinctively interesting cities. This will be the first time MLA has met in the Pacific Northwest in many years and I for one am looking forward to the meeting with great anticipation.

My thanks to Program Committee Chair Leslie Andersen and her team for putting together a splendid program, to our intrepid Convention Managers Diane Steinhaus and Wendy Sistrunk for all their work preparing for our arrival, to Katie Buehner, our indefatigable Web Manager, for organizing the conference website, and our business office at A-R Editions, led by Jim Zychowicz, for their work in getting us all registered.
