Welcome to the Fort Monroe Authority Channel!!! We are so glad you have joined us for our program.
The Fort Monroe Authority, Contraband Historical Society, the National Park Service and the City of Hampton partner together to commemorate and remember those individuals impacted by and descended from the Contraband Decision of 1861at Fort Monroe.
Join us live from the historic Chapel of the Centurion as we bring together local "Contraband" Descendants with 3rd-great-grandson of Major General Benjamin Butler. Come here all about this often-overlooked piece of American history, and about the Contraband Historical Society's many new initiatives to bring the ancestors histories into the light.
Our Program is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at approximately 7:00 PM. We encourage you to join early.
