NASA Goddard's Office of Communications is proud to present this latest iteration of the Engage series.

NASA’s Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble Gases, Chemistry, and Imaging (DAVINCI) mission will study the origin, evolution and present state of Venus’ atmosphere and mountains in unprecedented detail, from near the top of the clouds to the planet’s surface. The mission’s goal is to help answer longstanding questions about our neighboring planet, especially whether Venus ever had liquid water oceans and was habitable like Earth. DAVINCI’s probe will ultimately touch down in a region called Alpha Regio, which is twice the size of Texas. Named after visionary Renaissance artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci, DAVINCI is scheduled to launch in 2029.
