In accordance with Va. Code § 2.2-3708.2, Chapter 1283 of the 2020 Acts of the Virginia General Assembly, and Governor Northam’s Executive Order 51 dated March 12, 2020, the EVMS Board of Visitors will meet by electronic communication means on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

An electronic meeting is permitted when the Governor has declared a state of emergency in accordance with Va. Code § 44-147.17, provided that (i) the nature of the declared emergency makes it impracticable or unsafe to assemble in a single location and (ii) the purpose of the meeting is to discuss or transact the business statutorily required or necessary to continue operations and the discharge of its lawful purposes, duties, and responsibilities. The Rector, in consultation with the President, has determined that it would be both impracticable and unsafe to assemble in a single location for this meeting.

The meeting will be held in open and closed session. In accordance with Va. Code § 2.2-3711 (A) 5 and 22, following a motion and vote of the Committee, the meeting will be convened in closed session to discuss prospective business expansion and specific proprietary, business-related information pertaining to the operations and finances of EVMS. Following the closed session, the Committee will return to open session to certify that only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements and which were identified in the motion authorizing the closed session were heard, discussed, or considered in closed session.
