Dr. Deanna Wathington, Director of the School of Health Sciences at Bethune Cookman University will explore how universities can serve as partners and engines of renewal, as communities address issues of health and food equity. Conversation will include an honest exploration of the sometimes-strained relationships between educational institutions and the residents they serve, the process by which trust and collaboration can be fostered though civic engagement, the inequalities highlighted by the current Covid-19 pandemic, and ways forward in the creation of healthy, equitable communities.
