The SI Explorer and Collections Care team is comprised of a group of Smithsonian staff with an interest in utilizing the mapping visualizations of SI Explorer for the management of Smithsonian Collections. It is led by SI Geospatial Division staff, Lee Robertson and Michael Sandor, NMNH Assistant Registrar, Erin Bilyeu, and NMNH Conservation Technician, Evan Cooney. Two 90-minute workshop sessions were held during the C3 Conference to introduce other Smithsonian staff to the SI Explorer and to explore uses of the technology, in addition to brainstorming what needs collections staff had.
