Synergies between private and public sector solutions - Shauravi Malik, Founder, Slurrp Farm
2 years ago106 views
Shauravi explains how her team collaborated with smallholder farmers in Maharashtra, in combination with the government agency Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIN) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), to explore how Slurrp Farm can work towards intergenerational change both in terms of nutritional outcomes and environmental sustainability. She suggests that one solution is to leverage public-private partnerships to create more holistic interactions with producers and poses the question, how can farmers have ownership and agency within private enterprise?
The video was created as part of the second edition of the World Bank – FAO Knowledge Session series on the nexus of food systems, nutrition, and climate change. The Series examines how policies and actions on the ground can make agrifood systems more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, enabling healthy diets and better nutrition while tackling climate change and biodiversity loss.
