Devale presents how to navigate water-food-climate nexus programming in fragility, conflict, and vulnerability contexts. Highlighting the difficulties and constraints specific to the Afghanistan context, he presents how the nexus has been integrated into a project aimed at improving resilience of agriculture production system for targeted smallholder farmers. Launched in June 2022, Mr Devale presents some of the activities carried out to increase agricultural production and strengthen water services resilience, as well as the results observed on the nutrition and food security of target communities.
The video was created as part of the third edition of the World Bank – FAO Knowledge Exchange series on the nexus of food systems, nutrition, and climate change. The Series examines how policies and actions on the ground can make agrifood systems more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, enabling healthy diets and better nutrition while tackling climate change and biodiversity loss.
